Introduction

RupeeCalc ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our free mobile application (package ID: finance.calculator.India), which provides Indian personal finance calculators (loan EMI, SIP, income tax, and more), precious metal reference prices, and finance news feeds.

RupeeCalc is intended only for users in India. This policy is written in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the rules made under it, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Information We Collect

No Account or Identity Collection

RupeeCalc does not require sign-in. We do not collect personal identifiers or payment information through the app.

Calculator Inputs

Values you enter into calculators (such as income, loan amount, interest rate, deductions, or investment amounts) are processed only on your device to show results. They are not uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties.

Data Stored on Your Device

The app stores the following locally on your device:

• Language preference
• The last tab you opened
• Your selected city and metal / purity preferences on the prices screen
• Cached metal prices, so the last known prices are available offline
• The news feeds you follow and cached headlines for offline reading
• Calculators you bookmark for quick access

This local data stays on your device unless you clear app data or uninstall the app. We do not have access to it.

Internet Features

When you use certain features, the app connects to the internet:

• Metal prices: Downloads publicly available daily reference rates from an open currency data service (served via jsDelivr and Cloudflare Pages). No personal information is included in these requests.
• City gold rates: Where city-specific rates are offered, the app sends only the name of the city you selected to our price service in order to return rates for that city. The city you pick is your own choice; the app does not access your device location.
• News feeds: Fetches RSS / Atom feeds only from the publishers you choose to follow (for example, Economic Times, Mint, NDTV Profit, India Today, Rediff, or any feed address you add yourself). Articles open on the publisher's website in your browser.

As with any internet request, these services may receive technical information such as your IP address, device type, and request time as part of normal server logs.

PDF Reports and Sharing

When you create a PDF report or share a result, the file is generated on your device. It is shared only with the app or person you choose through your device's share or print menu. We do not receive a copy.

How We Use Information

• To perform calculations and display results on your device
• To show reference prices for gold, silver, and other metals
• To show headlines from the news feeds you follow
• To remember your preferences between sessions

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else.

Third-Party Services

Depending on the features you use, third parties may process limited technical data (such as IP address and request logs) under their own privacy policies:

• jsDelivr and Cloudflare (delivery of public currency and metal price data)
• News publishers whose feeds you follow, and their websites when you open an article
• Google Play services related to app distribution and updates

Advertising & Analytics

RupeeCalc does not currently include third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or crash-reporting tools that track you. If this changes, we will update this Privacy Policy before enabling such features.

Data Security

All network requests made by the app use encrypted HTTPS connections. Data stored on your device is kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot access under Android's standard security model.

Children's Privacy

RupeeCalc is a general-audience finance tool and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.

Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of personal data we hold about you, and you may raise a grievance. Because the app does not send personal data to us, the only personal data we may hold is what you send us by email. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

Data Retention & Your Controls

• Local app data remains until you clear app storage or uninstall the app
• You can unfollow any news feed at any time from the Manage feeds screen
• Calculators work fully offline; you can avoid network use by not opening the prices or feeds sections
• Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to respond to your request

App Permissions

• Internet: Used to fetch metal prices and the news feeds you follow

RupeeCalc does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, SMS, or files.

RupeeCalc provides estimates for informational and educational purposes only. It is not financial, tax, investment, or legal advice. Metal prices are indicative reference rates and may differ from local retail prices, which include GST and making charges. Please consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions. RupeeCalc is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Reserve Bank of India, the Income Tax Department, SEBI, any bank, or any news publisher.
